Nonsurgical Brow Lift With BOTOX®

Hooded eyelids and deep frown lines can make you appear tired or angry even when rested and content. Some people get plastic surgery to address their concerns, but not everyone needs or wants to undergo a surgical procedure. A nonsurgical brow lift using BOTOX injections offers an effective option.

How Does a BOTOX Brow Lift Work?

BOTOX injections smooth wrinkles by blocking signals from the nerves to muscles in the treatment area, preventing them from contracting. For a brow lift, BOTOX relaxes the specific muscles that pull the eyebrows down. The treatment elevates the brow and eyelids to create a more alert, youthful, and rested appearance.

What Are the Benefits of a BOTOX Brow Lift?

One of the primary advantages of a BOTOX brow lift is that it’s minimally invasive and doesn’t require any downtime. It’s an ideal solution for people looking for a less costly alternative to plastic surgery. The results are temporary, lasting about 3 to 4 months, but you can maintain the look by scheduling periodic touch-up treatments.

Other benefits include:

Reduced eyelid hooding: Aging and heredity are the most common causes of hooded eyelids (excess skin above the eyelids). A BOTOX brow lift elevates the lids and gives your eyes a more open and refreshed look. When performed by an experienced injector, the treatment produces natural-looking results.

Creates symmetry: Knowledgeable injectors can precisely target muscles to change the brow’s shape and correct asymmetrical brows.

What Happens During a BOTOX Brow Lift?

Unlike brow lift surgery, a BOTOX brow lift appointment takes only a few moments, and there is no recovery time. You should stop taking pain relievers or supplements that can thin your blood, such as ibuprofen, vitamin E, and fish oil, for 2 weeks before the treatment. Avoid consuming alcohol for 3 days to minimize the risk of bruising. Ensure you’re hydrated and have a light meal before the appointment to avoid feeling lightheaded after the injections.

The injections themselves take only seconds and feel like a quick pinch. If desired, we can numb the incision sites with an ice pack. You can immediately return to work or any other activity, although the injection sites may appear reddish. This typically resolves within an hour. Bruising, if it occurs, is minimal.

Don’t rub your brows for 24 hours, and postpone exercise that elevates your heart rate until the following day. Most people see the initial results about 5 to 7 days following the injections and the final outcome after 2 weeks.

How Much BOTOX Is Needed?

The number of BOTOX units needed to produce the desired results depends on several factors, including your unique features and goals.

In most cases, our clients need the following:

  • 15 to 30 units for lines along the brow
  • 10 to 18 units for horizontal lines along the forehead
  • 20 to 35 units for glabellar lines between the brows

Men may need more BOTOX because they have more prominent facial muscles. You can learn more about how BOTOX is priced per unit in our related blog post.
