What It Treats
Cosmetic skin conditions that we can treat with Forever Young BBL treatments vary considerably. With BBL we can treat virtually any area of the body, including the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands. We often recommend a series of treatments to produce the best results. Forever Young BBL treats the following conditions:
- Pigmented lesions, such as freckles and age spots
- Vascular lesions, including small blood vessels
- Acne
- Skin laxity
- Uneven texture
Another option for treating active acne and preventing future breakouts is our NeoClear® laser treatment. If you’re concerned about issues such as hyperpigmentation or melasma, our providers may suggest our Complexion Correction MD Peel or NeoSkin® laser treatment.

How It Works
What sets Forever Young BBL apart from other skin rejuvenation treatments is it’s the only one that actually changes the expression of genes associated with the aging process to more closely resemble youthful skin. A study conducted by Stanford University School of Medicine showed molecular changes were stimulated by BBL treatments. *Forever Young BBL technology uses light energy to heat the skin’s deeper layers, stimulating the body’s natural healing process to produce new collagen without causing damage to the skin’s surface. So even though results can be dramatic, the procedure itself is gentle and doesn’t require any downtime.
What to Expect
Before beginning the treatment, your provider has you put on safety shields or glasses to protect your eyes. Most patients tolerate the procedure without needing a topical anesthetic, but it may be used for particularly sensitive areas. Once the treatment starts, expect to feel a quick, warm sensation as the targeted areas begins absorbing the light energy. The treatment time depends on the size of the targeted area. It can last anywhere from a few minutes to a half-hour. Because BBL treatments don’t require any downtime, you can resume most activities immediately after the procedures.
How Many Sessions of BBL Do You Need?
The number of treatments needed to create the desired results varies from patient to patient. Our nurse practitioners create customized treatment plans based on the skin condition being treated and the patient’s goals.
Results
Immediately after a Forever Young BBL treatment, you may see some redness. That usually lasts only a few hours. If the treatment involves pigmented lesions, the treated area may initially darken. Later, the darkening fades and some flaking occurs. It’s important to follow the post-treatment care plan our nurses provide, which includes avoiding direct sun exposure and using sunscreen that includes protection from both UVA and UVB rays.
The final results depend on the condition or conditions being treated and the number of treatments. Some women and men schedule periodic treatments to maintain the outcomes for years.
Commonly Combined Procedures
We may recommend combining BBL with other procedures to address your concerns more completely. Options include:
- Halo® fractional laser skin resurfacing to treat both the surface and deeper layers of the skin for improved tone and texture.
- SkinTyte to tighten and firm the skin through increased collagen production.
