How It Works

Chemical peels used at White Orchid Spa can be either light or medium depth, depending on the strength of the solutions used. Certain peels are formulated specifically for treating acne. Light peels typically use alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), such as glycolic, lactic, salicylic, or fruit acids, and refresh your complexion with no downtime. Medium peels use trichloroacetic acid (TCA), which works well for treating fine surface wrinkles, superficial blemishes, and pigmentation problems.

What to Expect

A chemical peel performed by one of our nurse practitioners begins with thoroughly cleansing your face. The nurse then applies the solution and allows it to remain for a specified time. There is usually a tingling sensation as the nurse applies the peel. After the peel is washed off, the nurse applies a soothing ointment.

A medium chemical peel removes the outer layer of skin, which gradually flakes away for about a week after the treatment. You’ll notice improved skin tone and texture. A light chemical peel refreshes your complexion with no downtime.
