Which Lip Filler Brand Is Best? 

The best lip filler for you depends on your cosmetic goals and unique lip features. Here are the benefits of some popular choices.

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC 

Results last about 12 months. Benefits include:

  • Minimizing fine lines, especially at the corners of the lips.
  • Defining the vermilion border, where the lip tissue connects to the rest of your face.
  • Enhancing the cupid’s bow appearance (where the upper lip comes to two distinct points toward the center of the mouth). 

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE®  

Results last up to 18 months. Benefits include:

  • Enhancing lip fullness longer (it’s a thicker gel than VOLBELLA).
  • Providing subtle or more noticeable enhancement.

JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC

‘Lip Flip’ vs. Lip Filler

A lip flip and lip filler are both injectable lip enhancement procedures; however, they work in different ways.

  • Lip flip: Makes the upper lip appear fuller without adding volume. It involves injecting BOTOX® into the muscle that controls the upper lip’s movement. BOTOX relaxes the muscle and allows the upper lip to roll upward, exposing more of the reddish lip vermilion. The results are subtle, develop gradually over several days, and last about 2 to 5 months.  
  • Lip filler: Increases volume with injections into the lips. Results are instant, more predictable, and last 6 to 18 months.

If you’re looking for a slight enhancement of the upper lip, a lip flip could be a good choice. For more noticeable volume, definition of the lip borders, or enhancement of the lower lip, you will need fillers. Some guests benefit from a combination of a BOTOX lip flip and lip fillers.

How do I prevent the duck lip look?

Choose a skilled, well-trained professional to ensure your lip injection results look soft and natural, not overdone. Our injectors take a conservative approach, injecting small amounts of filler and taking care not to overfill.

When can I wear lipstick or gloss after getting lip fillers?

We recommend waiting at least 24 hours before applying anything to your lips to avoid irritation and impacting your results.

Will I be able to kiss after getting lip fillers?

Certainly, though you’ll likely want to wait until any swelling in your lips subsides, which takes about 24 to 48 hours.

Is there anyone who shouldn’t get lip fillers?

Lip fillers are safe for most adults, but are not recommended if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a cold sore, active infection, or certain medical conditions.
