Microblading for Eyebrows
Aimee Gregory of Lovely Artistry and our other eyebrow artists create sculpted, expressive brows that flatter the face and appear natural. Using precision strokes and an artistic eye, pigment is manually deposited under the skin’s surface with a unique hand tool used for microblading. At our Vero Beach med spa, we see clients who want to fill in sparse brows or add definition and attractive shaping for semi-permanent results.
No two people (or brows!) are the same. Your eyebrow artist spends the time needed to ensure you feel completely satisfied with your microblading experience and confident in your new look.
Microblading Before and After Photos
What It Treats
Our microblading service offers custom solutions to common brow challenges, helping to reconstruct, define, cover gaps or fill in over-plucked eyebrows. It corrects years of over tweezing/waxing and can give your brows the shape you’ve always dreamed of. Our guests often complement their beautiful brows with eyelash extensions.
How It Works
Microblading is a technique of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing performed specifically on the eyebrows, eliminating the need to draw on your brows each morning. Like earlier methods of cosmetic tattooing, it is done by manually depositing pigment into the second layer of the skin. What makes it unique is the specialized microblading hand tool that features a row of several tiny needles. The unique formation of needles allows the artist to create the look of real eyebrow hairs by tattooing very fine hair-like strokes in the skin.
If you prefer a bolder look, applying brow powder or pencil takes only seconds to apply with the personalized template you will be given to use at home.
What to Expect
At the outset of your appointment, your artist will determine the best brow shape for your face, blend a custom brow color, and then apply a numbing cream to ensure your comfort. Once you’re comfortably numb, your artist will begin to measure and draw the outline of your new eyebrows without shaving your existing brows.
When you are happy with the new shape and style, the microblading process begins. The treatment is performed by depositing pigment into the second layer of the skin using very fine hair-like strokes.
Most clients notice their brows appear darker during the first few days after the microblading procedure before becoming 30% to 50% lighter after some scabbing and flaking of the pigment. This is normal and no cause for worry. As long as you listen to and strictly follow the aftercare instructions, you won’t have any long-term issues or concerns. You’ll be perfectly pleased with your beautiful new brows, which typically last 1 to 3 years.
How to Prepare
Before scheduling an appointment, it’s important to avoid certain treatments, medications, and activities in the days and weeks before your microblading procedure. You should avoid:
- BOTOX® Cosmetic or filler injections 2 weeks before your appointment
- Taking blood thinners, ibuprofen (Advil®), or acetaminophen (Tylenol®) 1 week prior
- Using retinols, glycolic or salicylic acids on your face 5 days prior
- Extreme sun exposure, advanced facial treatments, and waxing 7 days prior
- Drinking alcohol 48 hours prior
Following our post-treatment instructions is equally important. We’ll go over those in detail at your appointment. We’ll also provide an ointment to use on your brows for 7 days.
