Microblading for Hairline Restoration
Hair loss is an issue that can lower self-esteem, and it isn’t limited to men. About 40% of women have visible hair loss by the time they are 40, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Lovely Artistry can conceal a receding hairline or fill in shedding and thinning areas with the microblading technique in Vero Beach.
Microblading Before and After Photos
What Is Microblading?
The microblading technique is usually associated with improving the appearance of the eyebrows. Scalp microblading, however, is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to hair restoration medications or costly hair transplant surgery.
Scalp microblading, like brow microblading, is a temporary tattooing procedure that embeds cosmetic pigments just below the scalp’s surface. This is different than permanent tattooing, which involves depositing the ink deeper in the skin (below the dermis). This microblading technique creates the appearance of real hair that conceals thinning areas of the scalp.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Hair Restoration With Microblading?
Microblading for hair restoration works best for people with some hair still growing in the treatment area. The procedure involves artfully blending strokes with the small microblading device into the natural hair. It may not be the appropriate procedure for people with large bald patches.
Choosing Lovely Artistry
It’s extremely important to choose a highly trained microblading specialist for your hair restoration procedure. Aimee Gregory has earned a reputation as one of the leading microblading providers in Vero Beach and throughout the Treasure Coast. When performed by a technician with Aimee’s artistic eye and attention to detail, scalp microblading is an accessible solution for women and men concerned about hair loss.
What to Expect
As with clients who want to enhance the look of their brows with microblading, the first step for scalp microblading is discussing your cosmetic concerns and goals. The treatment area is numbed before the procedure begins to ensure you remain comfortable. The strokes made to deposit pigment aren’t as precise as those with eyebrow treatments, so the results look more like natural hair.
The time needed for the procedure varies, depending on the extent of the treatment needed. There is no downtime needed, but you likely will notice some flaking or peeling. The results can last up to 18 months and you may want to schedule touch-up appointments to maintain the outcome.
How to Prepare
You should avoid certain medications and activities in the days before your scalp microblading procedure, including:
- Taking blood thinners, ibuprofen (Advil®), or acetaminophen (Tylenol®) 1 week prior
- Extreme sun exposure 7 days prior
- Drinking alcohol 48 hours prior
Following our post-treatment instructions is equally important. We’ll go over those in detail at your appointment. We’ll also provide an ointment to use on your scalp for 7 days.
